Description
A tab-tensioned screen solves the single biggest flaw of ordinary motorised screens: waviness. Tabs along both edges pull the fabric taut as it lowers, keeping the surface mirror-flat instead of curling or rippling — so the image stays geometrically perfect across the whole screen. It gives you the clean, retractable look of a motorised screen with image flatness close to a fixed frame. Tono’s TS-TT Series is built in 16:9 with a silent tubular motor, RF remote, and a high-contrast Cinema Gray surface for deeper blacks — and tab-tensioning is especially worth it on larger drops, where an untensioned screen is most likely to wave. FAQ
What is a tab-tensioned projector screen? A motorised screen with tensioning tabs along both side edges that pull the fabric flat as it descends. This prevents the curling and rippling common to standard roll-down screens, keeping the image flat and geometrically accurate.
Why do projector screens get wrinkles, and how does tab-tensioning fix it? Ordinary roll-down fabric can wave or curl at the edges as it hangs. Tab-tensioning applies constant sideways tension so the surface stays taut and flat — the larger the screen, the more it matters.
Tab-tensioned vs standard motorised — what’s the difference? Both retract at a button press. A standard motorised screen can develop slight waves; a tab-tensioned screen stays flat, so it’s the better choice for image quality and for larger sizes.
What sizes and aspect ratios do you offer? The TS-TT Series comes in 16:9 at 100″, 110″, 120″, 133″ and 150″, with custom sizes on request.
