Description

The CLT 70 lowers a television straight down out of your ceiling and raises it back out of sight when you’re done. No hinge, no arc, no swing — a vertical drop on a screw-driven mechanism, so the screen arrives at viewing height in the same position every time.

It handles displays from 32″ to 70″ and up to 45 kg, runs at under 50 dB, and ships fully assembled. It’s the most direct way to put a TV in a room that shouldn’t look like it has one.

Straight down, not folded down

A flip-down mount swings the screen through an arc on a hinge. A drop-down mount lowers it vertically. The difference matters in three situations:

Low ceilings and tight sightlines. A vertical drop needs clearance directly below the ceiling cavity — nothing else. A hinged mount sweeps through the space in front of it as it opens.

Repeatable positioning. The screen returns to the same height and angle on every cycle. There’s no hinge tolerance to drift.

Ceiling-face installs. The mechanism sits above the ceiling line and the screen emerges through the opening. When it’s retracted, you see a ceiling panel.

If your room needs the screen to tilt toward the seating position as it deploys, a flip-down model is the better fit — see the comparison below.

Motion Max display Best for
CLT 70 Vertical drop 70″ Ceiling-face installs; repeatable positioning; the value option
CLT 75 Vertical drop 77″ Same motion, larger displays
FL 100M Flip down 55″ Shallow ceiling cavities; screen angles toward the room
FL 100L Flip down 77″ Large displays, shallow cavity
FL 100DM / DL Flip down + drop 55″ / 77″ Rooms needing both the angle and extra height

Control options

The CLT 70 ships with an RF remote that works without line of sight — useful, since the mechanism sits above a ceiling panel.

For integrated rooms, RS232 and dry-contact closure let the lift join a Control4, Crestron, Savant, or similar system, so the screen deploys as part of a scene rather than as its own step. A backup control switch is included for service access.

Installation notes

Confirm the ceiling cavity before you order. The mechanism needs clear depth above the ceiling line, free of ducting, joists, and cable runs. This is the most common reason an install stalls.

Weigh the ceiling panel. The panel that travels with the lift counts against the 45 kg capacity along with the display. Calculate both before installation.

Plan the power and signal runs first. HDMI and mains need to reach the cavity and travel with the mechanism. Retrofitting this after the ceiling is closed is expensive.

Ships fully assembled. No on-site build. Mount, connect, calibrate.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a drop-down and a flip-down ceiling TV mount? A drop-down lowers the screen vertically. A flip-down swings it through an arc on a hinge, which angles the screen toward the room but sweeps through the space in front of it. The CLT 70 is a drop-down.

Will it hold a 70-inch TV? Yes, up to 45 kg — which covers most 70″ panels. Check your display’s weight, and add the weight of the ceiling panel attached to the lift.

How much ceiling space do I need? [CONFIRM — depth requirement]

Is it loud? Under 50 dB in motion — roughly the level of a quiet conversation. The screw-driven mechanism has no exposed gears or scissor arms.

Can it work with my automation system? Yes. RS232 and dry contact are standard, alongside the RF remote.

Does the screen rotate or tilt? No. The CLT 70 is a vertical drop only. For rotation, see the Flip R series.
